Coordinated management from source to sea
We are cooperating with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and VASI, Vietnam’s water management authority. We are currently supporting a source-to-sea project in a river system that runs through the provinces of Da Nang and Quang Nam. The project was initiated in 2016.
The project aims to minimize the impact of climatic effects, uncontrolled hydropower development, illegal sand extraction from the river bottom, damages from erosion in the lower parts of the river system and pollution from the rapid increase of tourism in the coastal area.
We are also working in collaboration with MONRE, and the associated authorities for Marine and Water Management NAWAPI and CEWAREC.
