Marine environmental monitoring for future, innovation and sustainability (MEMFIS 2023)
On November 9–10 2023, the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management (SwAM) and The Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development (Formas), will organise an international conference on Marine environmental monitoring for the future, with emphasis on innovation and sustainability. The conference will take place in Stockholm, Sweden.
On November 9–10 2023, the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management (SwAM) and The Swedish Research Council for Sustainable Development (Formas), will organise an international conference on Marine environmental monitoring in order for the future, with focus on innovation and sustainability. The conference will take place in Stockholm, Sweden.
The aim of the conference is to create a forum where stakeholders can present and discuss various initiatives to promote marine environmental management through a more efficient use of existing monitoring infrastructure, innovative monitoring methods and analytical resources to create a marine environmental monitoring that can truly realize clean oceans and a sustainable blue economy.
The conference will focus on the future and on how to utilise and develop the resources we have for marine monitoring in order to create a better, more efficient, monitoring.
Objectives of MEMFIS 2023
- Present priority needs for marine environmental monitoring in support of healthy oceans and a sustainable blue economy .
- Demonstrate innovative technologies to provide the necessary environmental information.
- Propose next steps for improved collaboration and coordination.
- How can we jointly achieve the best possible marine environmental monitoring of the Baltic Sea and the North Sea?
Who should attend?
We invite various stakeholders in areas such as marine monitoring, marine sustainable management, decision-making, civil society, technical innovation, marine research, research vessel management, data analysis and presentation to present and discuss the development of marine monitoring.
