The seminar will be followed by a workshop examining how ecosystem-based fisheries management could be defined and implemented in Sweden.
One of the central objectives of the EU Common Fisheries Policy is to implement the ecosystem-based approach to fisheries management. SwAM will commence development of a strategy for how this can happen in Sweden and has initiated a pilot project in the 8-fjordar area of Västra Götaland.
