Live Webcast: Seminar and Workshop on Ecosystem-Based Fisheries Management

What is ecosystem-based fisheries management and how can in work in practice? Professor Craig Johnson from the University of Tasmania in Hobart, Australien, will talk about what it means and how it has been applied in Tasmania.

The seminar will be followed by a workshop examining how ecosystem-based fisheries management could be defined and implemented in Sweden.

One of the central objectives of the EU Common Fisheries Policy is to implement the ecosystem-based approach to fisheries management. SwAM will commence development of a strategy for how this can happen in Sweden and has initiated a pilot project in the 8-fjordar area of Västra Götaland.
