More about the Seminar

The ocean is an invaluable resource – crucial to all life on the planet. However it has long been subject to relentless exploitation from people and business. Today, our ocean is facing huge challenges. We have started the biggest race of all time, to save the ocean against unsustainable exploitation.

Businesses, together with decision makers, play a key role in saving the ocean and steering toward a more sustainable development. The voices of a number of key players from the private, public, and non-profit sectors will share innovations, trends, and learnings from ocean management.

Some of the Event Highlights

  • Presentation of the value of the ocean in monetary terms – also valuing the potential losses (the Ambassador of State, WWF, and the Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management).
  • Business from various industries share examples of how to turn sustainability into a business opportunity (Stena Line, Volvo Penta, and BillerudKorsnäs).
  • Discussion on what is needed from businesses and decision makers to save the ocean (the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation).
